Our sports swimwear design team developed this two-piece swimsuit for beginner surfers in small waves.

Are you a beginner surfer?

To learn surfing or practice it a few times a year, during your vacation or a surf trip, you need to stay close to the beach where you can touch the bottom in small waves. You will surf for the fun of being in the water. During your surf sessions, you will often fall but in waves that are not too strong. We have designed a wide range of swimwear for you, to suit your seasonal practices and body shape.

Body Shape

The Lilo swimsuit has a classic style and an adjustable neckline to suit many body shapes. It is designed for beginner surfers who do not need a lot of stability in the wave. This swimsuit features exposed shoulders for surfers, making it ideal for paddling. This model is available for ages 8 to 16 years.

Product Stability in Waves: Testing

We designed these swimsuits to be stable on the body and not slip in the waves. To test the product, we enlist at least 12 female surfers with different body shapes who follow a testing protocol in a swimming pool at our design offices in Hendaye. This protocol aims to recreate the experience surfers have when they are tumbled by waves. If this test is conclusive, we then go surfing in the sea to test our swimsuits in real conditions.

Here is the link between age and height on swimsuit labels: 4/5 years: 105 to 114 cm 5/6 years: 115 to 124 cm 7/8 years: 125 to 132 cm 8/9 years: 133 to 142 cm 10/11 years: 143 to 150 cm 12/13 years: 151 to 160 cm 14/15 years: 161 to 169 cm This model is available for ages 7/8 years.

Dry Fit vs. Wet Fit

To ensure a good fit in the water, it is important to choose the right size when dry because once in the water, swimwear becomes more elastic. Therefore, we recommend purchasing the correct size. The swimsuit should fit snugly when tried on in the fitting room, and you should feel that it supports your body. The elastane material used in some of the components in our swimsuit designs adds softness and provides a relaxed feeling in the water.

Do you want to exchange the product?

Is the size or model not suitable for you? Do you want to exchange the product at a Decathlon store? No problem, just make sure not to cut the swimsuit label if you wish to exchange it.
