Solar camping shower - 10 litres

Our camping designers created this 10 litre solar shower so you can shower outside and/or wash your belongings.

TIME AND CONDITIONS FOR HEATING WATER

Heating time depends on several factors: the initial water temperature, outdoor temperature, ground type (concrete, grass, etc.), wind, sun, etc. To encourage increased temperature, put the shower in the sun between 12:00 and 18:00. The temperature drops as soon as the sun fades. You can add hot water directly. Be careful that the temperature doesn't go above 50°C as this could damage the components or put you in danger

Recommendations for use

This shower works with gravity. Visual instructions can be found on the shower. 2 possible uses: - hang it (for example: solid tree branch), attach the strap then hang the handle on the hook. - stand it on a flat surface (for example: van roof). Be careful not to pull the shower head hose and don't stand the shower too near to the edge so that it falls on you. We recommend you always check the water temperature before taking your shower.

Precautions

We advise against putting it behind a car windscreen; our tests show that the water could go beyond 50°C. In all cases, it is recommended to let the water run a little before taking your shower to ensure that the water is not too hot.

WATER VISIBILITY

One of the two sides is transparent so you can see the remaining water level.

Heat tests by our design team

Here are our temperature readings after a heating test on the shower exposed to the sun. The test took place one mid-June afternoon in south-east France. Shower placed on hard, white ground. Average outside temperature of 28 °C. Initial water temperature of 20°C, 828 W/M² average solar power, 2 km/hr wind. - In 3 hours 46 minutes, the water went from 20°C to 35°C. In 5 hours 46 minutes, the water went from 20°C to 39°C.

Our motivation? To create a back-up shower that you just need to hang up high for use. The water is heated by the sun and the shower folds away for better compactness.
